10 April 2010Victory Pose1
vol. 54
Hello. Sakurai here.
Yesterday was our interview about our inaguration as the faces of Japan's sightseeing campaign. We were filming a PV.
...From early morning, Aiba-kun was practicing earnestly his speech in Chinese.
He kept grumbling as he was lying on his back practicing it.
"Jing jiang rou si"2
"hui guo ro"2
and randomly interrupting me and meddling with the staff and stuff, while practicing with all his might.
Nino:
"Continuing on, we'll now hear Aiba's greetings."
Aiba:
"Yes! And now, I'd like to give my greetings in Chinese!"
That kind of simulation.
At the end of our greetings
"Jian hui ba! (Let's meet!)"
and assuming this kind of victory pose while he said it.
"I'll do my best!"
Not like that kind of thing, but he's always doing this victory pose.
Seems like he's always doing that.
The next day:
Now it's time to meet with a reporter.
Aiba:
"Jian hui ba! (Let's meet!)"
while doing the victory pose.
With such vigour...
Reporter:
"Whom in Arashi would be most able to show foreigners around?"
Sakurai:
"I think it's Aiba. With his body language, it seems like he'd get on well with them."
Aiba:
"Jian hui ba! (let's meet!)" <- victory pose
He kept doing that even when we did a group picture
Cameraman:
"Everyone! That... um... Aiba-kun"
Aiba:
"Jian hui ba!'?"
Cameraman:
"Yeah, yeah! If you would!"
Man...
It turns out that victory pose = jian hui ba!
Me, on the other hand
My speech in English went off without a hitch, but in the beginning
Sakurai:
"Official license... Korea...3 I'm happy to be able to serve as spokespeople for Japan tourism."
I screwed it up!!
The most important thing I had to say, and I screwed it up!!
I even surprised myself.
(Man, you screwed it up)
It was like that.
Please continue to support Arashi for a long time m(__)m

Otonoha vol.54 updated. Well, it’s me.
...It happened the day before the appointment of Tourism-Oriented Country navigator, during filming of PV.
Aiba-kun who patiently practice Chinese speech by himself, beside him who repeats in a mutter, “青椒肉絲” (pepper steak) “回鍋肉” (double cooked pork), I and staffs give interjection and meddle to him, but he practiced so hard without hesitating.
Ninomiya: “So next is the greeting by Aiba-san”
Aiba: ” Yes! I make greetings in Chinese!” we did such simulation.
In the end of greeting Aiba” 相会吧!” (Let’s meet) saying so I don’t know why he pumps his fist every time. It’s not about “I do my best!” he pumps his fist every time. It seems it fit to him.
Then next day, at press conference was held.
All in all after ”相会吧!” he added punch the air. The rest is according to impulse.
Press: “Who is the best navigator of foreigner people among Arashi?”
Sakurai: ”I think it’s Aiba, I think he can get along by gesture.”
Aiba: ”相会吧!” ←punch the air. As this continued the photo of 3 also, Photographer “Everybody! That… pose...Aiba-san’s one.”
Aiba: “Is it相会吧?”
Photographer: “Right that one. Please!” Well…this becomes punch the air = 相会吧! Meanwhile
Sakurai^ “I was appointed Touri…-Orien…Tourism-Oriented Country navigator,” I fluffed my lines too much! Fluffed mooost important part too much! I was surprised by myself. (But you, you do sometimes) all told, Please continuously support Arashi.
